In case you missed it, Klarna made its debut at the largest and most anticipated US sporting and cultural event of the year. (You know, the one that can’t be named for legal reasons)!

And now it’s stepping out down under … this coming Monday night (22 February), the ad will air nationally from 7.30pm on the Nine Network.

Entitled “The Four Quarter-Sized Cowboys,” the commercial featured four miniature cowboys riding into town in search of a pair of mighty fine boots, which they then pay for using Klarna’s “Pay in 4” offering, which allows customers to shop anywhere online and split their purchase into four equal, interest-free payments over time.

In true Klarna fashion, the humour-filled ad was sprinkled with surprise and delight moments that only those eagle-eyed viewers may have caught at first glance.

Did you spot the Easter Eggs?

The commercial begins with four stylish, singing cowboys riding through town on mini horses. But upon closer look in our extended cut, the background set sparkles with pink easter eggs (literally).

The names of four hand-selected small businesses in the US market are featured on the storefronts in the reimagined Western town. Here’s who they are:

Coco and Breezy: twin designers Corianna and Brianna Dotson founded Coco and Breezy Eyewear, which has become a hit in the entertainment and fashion world. The handcrafted designer optical glasses and sunglasses have been fashioned by celebrities such as Prince, Lady Gaga, Serena Williams and more.

thirteen lune: the company was created by Black and Brown founders Nyakio Grieco and Patrick Herning to inspire the discovery of beauty brands that resonate with people of all colors. The ecommerce site gives each brand a platform to educate and engage a wider audience.

Studio One Eighty Nine: the company produces African and African-inspired content and clothing. Co-founded by Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah, the brand works with artisanal communities that specialize in traditional craftsmanship techniques and focuses on empowerment, creating jobs, and supporting education and skills training.

cuddle+kind: a mission-driven organization, the founders of cuddle+kind wanted to make beautiful hand-knit dolls that help feed children. For every cuddle+kind doll sold, the company gives 10 meals to children in need.

And lastly, did you spot the woman holding a boot-shaped beer? She happens to be sporting an iconic luxury TELFAR shopping bag across her chest.

We were honoured to see our first-ever Big Game commercial in good company with some of the biggest brands in the world. And to the millions of viewers around the world who may have caught our small moment of fame: we’re just getting started.
