Australian-owned small businesses are an essential part of the Aussie culture so, we decided it’s time we made it easier for shoppers to show their support. Enter Big Love for Small Business, a campaign that highlights some of our favourite small brands and rewards shoppers for supporting those who support local.
From the 6th of September to the 19th of September, we launched an exclusive offer through our pay in 4 solution by covering shoppers’ final instalment, up to $60, when they checked out with Klarna at any of our participating small businesses.
“Working with Klarna was effortless and, above all else, our customers loved the offer. We saw significant improvements in traffic, engagement and conversion. All of this is reinforced by feedback received from very happy customers”.
– Darren Ford, Outland Denim.
The campaign covered different verticals, from fashion and apparel to vegan dog accessories. Together we made the most out of the Klarna ecosystem to connect shoppers and retailers.
“The thing I love about working with Klarna is they understand that small Aussie businesses will become big Aussie businesses, and they are helping us get there. Klarna just gets it. And they got us at Single Use Ain’t Sexy. I’m genuinely excited for more collaborations as they’ve become a key strategic partner in our continued growth in Australia & abroad.”
– Josh Howard, Single Use Ain’t Sexy
Big Love for Small Business was supported across all Klarna channels, including the app, organic and paid social media, and CRM. And that’s not all – the campaign was also featured in a PopSugar advertorial highlighting how 4 of our retailers are not only doing good for our planet, but also our bodies.
“Overall, our team was delighted with the outcomes of the Klarna campaign – we saw a large uplift in revenue driven by Klarna, but also overall (excluding Klarna transactions). As a brand that never goes on sale, the Klarna offer was a great way for us to capture more price sensitive customers without the perception of price-slashing on our end. We had great returns in our abandon cart audiences (in email and in paid) as well as existing customers – we were really pleasantly surprised by the uptick in repeat purchase, especially as our hero product is typically a one-per customer item. Outside of the performance of the campaign itself, the Klarna team was incredibly helpful during the entire process. From collaborating on the marketing assets to giving us direct support for website changes – it was smooth end to end and we can’t wait to work together again”
