Showing big love for small business.

by Klarna

Small businesses make up 98% of businesses in Australia, contributing close to $418 billion to the economy. But this year, ongoing lockdowns have had a significant impact on the small businesses we love.

Australian-owned small businesses are an essential part of the Aussie culture so we here at Klarna decided it’s time we made it easier for shoppers to show their support. We wanted to highlight some of our favourite small business brands as well as reward those who are supporting local so we launched Big Love for Small Business to do exactly that.

This September*, we’re giving back to those shopping small with an exclusive Klarna offer through our pay in 4 solution by covering shoppers’ final instalment** and dedicating our channels to shouting out small businesses, their products and encouraging local shoppers to get behind their favourite Aussie-owned brands.

Ready to show some big love for small businesses? Here are a few of our favourites.

Home and Accessories

Single Use Ain’t Sexy

From vegan made accessories for your dog by St Argo, indoor plants from Plants in a Box, your best baby sleep aids from Glow Dreaming, to the perfect keep cup from SoL Cups, Klarna’s got you covered on small-owned home essentials. Single Use Ain’t Sexy, founded by Josh Howard, is on a mission to keep our hands clean without plastic waste with their sustainable homeware products. Plus, as we get closer to summer, Dock and Bay have the ultimate quick dry beach towel, as well as a range of innovative, high quality and affordable summer products that their customers can’t seem to get enough of.

Fashion and Apparel

Outland Denim

Our merchants put big love into the clothing they create, ensuring their customers are purchasing the most sustainable and ethically made possible. Outland Denim ensures their seamstresses are known by name and include a message from the maker on every pair of jeans sold. Nat’v Basics creates ethically designed underwear for women, by women. Each step of their design process is mindful of reducing their impact on the planet.

Take a look at more of our other fashion and apparel merchants including Casa, Maplestore, Sparrow and Finch, abi and joseph, Dricoper, Peta + Jain and Moana Bikini.

Health and Beauty

Butt Naked Body

Offering the best of health, skincare and beauty combined, our merchants are making everyday routines better than ever. Butt Naked Body was founded by Patrizia Tresca (and her dingo) who believes skincare and self-care routines should be easy-peasy, always cruelty-free, and make you feel like 24k magic, head to toe. Ovira is a team of women who know what their bodies need and developed a solution to period pain with science. They have a mission to end the unnecessary monthly suffering of people with periods, everywhere.
