Why was my One-time card purchase declined?
The decision of whether or not to approve a One-time card is based on an automated assessment. We understand that it can be frustrating to be declined for purchase after being approved in the past. However, our approval process helps Klarna responsibly offer our services to our customers. Please understand that our Customer Service is not able to change the outcome of the approval decision.
Was the One-time card declined in the store’s checkout?
The store might have declined your One-time card at checkout because they don’t accept prepaid cards. Visit the store’s website for more information regarding their restrictions on prepaid cards.
While Klarna does not review each store available in the Klarna app, we reserve the right to restrict any retailer and decline transactions at stores that don’t promote financial wellness, or fail to meet our regulatory, ethical, and risk standards:
- Bill or rent payments
- Gift card providers
- Governmental agencies
- Medical care
- Online gaming or gambling
- Rideshare services
- Subscription services
- Drugs or alcohol
- Supermarkets
- Pharmacies
Good to know! As a new Klarna user and while we still get to know you, you can make your first purchase with one of our partnered stores online. Once you have completely paid for an order with a value of approximately $70, you will unlock our One-time Card function within the app.
