Ju Yeon Lee.
At Klarna, I explore my creativity and break out of my comfort zone.

Designer - I create extraordinary and unique design that communicates Klarna as a brand.
My path.
Accepting a role at Klarna in 2019 meant the beginning of a whole new role and a whole new continent - moving to Stockholm for work was a big step in and of itself. I had previously worked with developing brands, brand identity, and visual design in New York, Singapore, and Seoul having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Communications Design from the Pratt Institute. I’ve worked in the Brand Studio since joining Klarna - it’s where I’m constantly challenged to tackle new tasks and new problems which helps me to grow and stay creative.
Working at Klarna.
My first impression with Klarna was full of curiosity and plenty of eyebrow-raising, WOW moments. And as I continue to grow here and explore my potential, I find inspiration to enhance my creativity and to break out of my comfort zone. We’ve fostered an open and welcoming environment and that helps create the most interesting and inspiring work. It’s a great place to refine your style and develop.
Something I’m unreasonably passionate about.
Well, as a designer, I’m passionate about creating appealing and distinctive visual communication. And outside of my professional passions, I zen out by spending time baking, brewing coffee, and taking a walk in nature.
A day in my life.
AM | PM | Evening |
---|---|---|
Daily stand-up with my team to go through upcoming briefs. | Sync with one of our production leads to check up on progress with an ongoing brief. | Cooking dinner. |
Executing on design tasks based on a brief I’m working on. | Grabbing a cup of coffee after lunch. | Taking a walk in the park near my place. |
Light snack (yogurt or fruits) time before lunch. | Focused crunch time to meet a smaller assignment that arrived in the morning. | Catching up with any shows I’m watching on Netflix. |
3 takes on Klarna.
My favorite Leadership Principle is...
Start small and learn fast because It encourages me to take on a new step that I've never experienced before, and also to push myself to become better for the next best thing.
The best task of the day is ..
to work on Motion ID to find themes that help us tie Klarna’s visual identity to our motion identity.
I’d describe my team as...
a rainbow. We are made up of team members from different parts of the world with different skill sets, but at the end of the day, we all are here creating compelling Klarna brand communications together as one.
