Özlem Tan.
I found out that Klarna is a multicultural company - which was exactly what I was looking for.

Business Operations Associate – Me and my team combat money laundering and terrorist financing.
My path.
I’ve been at Klarna for 4 years now, working in 3 different teams. I started in the debt collection team for the German market, in which I learned to negotiate and always end the conversations positively with a smile. After a year, I became a service specialist in Compliance Operations Europe, which means that I handle compliance related issues. We combat money laundering and terrorist financing. As an example, we review the consumers and payments to see if they purchase suspicious products.
Working at Klarna.
Before joining Klarna I was studying in Turkey and prior to that I lived and studied in Germany. I always wanted to live in Sweden, so I took the opportunity and searched for a job at Klarna. I found out that it’s a multicultural company, which was exactly what I was looking for; meeting people from all over the world and sharing interesting facts about our countries. Klarna is somewhat of a rebel among other banks, which does not only show with our pink colors. My initial plan was to be at Klarna for a year, but I'm still here 4 years later because the work environment is amazing. Advancing in your career is always possible and having fun with colleagues is non-stop.
Something I’m unreasonably passionate about.
Cats’ well-being is very important to me. I help homeless cats and spend some of my weekends working in a cat shelter where we have up to 50 cats at a time. My role is to clean the shelters and spend time with them, making sure that they feel at home until they find their new family.
3 takes on Klarna.
My favorite Leadership Principle is...
Let the team shine!
Who would not enjoy working at Klarna?
People who don’t like variety at work and do not want to work in teams to share knowledge and help each other.
I’d describe my team as...
Superstars!
