Risk Controller - I provide a second line of defense against risk and oversee processes and frameworks that protect our organization.

My path.

I joined Klarna in 2017 through a company that helps connect asylum seekers with internships at Swedish companies. It was a huge help - I didn’t have a professional network here so I was delighted when my application was successful. At the end of the internship, I was able to take on a role in the Back Office in the Customer Service domain, and eventually, I was able to start working as an analyst focused on financial crime prevention. I’ve had more than 15 internal interviews at Klarna - every team is willing to hear you out and see if you can bring something special to their problem space. It’s what has guided me to my current role as a Risk Controller. That openness is helping me and everyone here fulfill their full potential.

Working at Klarna.

At Klarna, I’m treated based on my talent and skills. Because of that, I’ve had the chance to try a variety of different tasks and obtained new skills along the way. It means I’ve been able to shape my career the way that I like - through continuous learning and preparing for the next level. It’s the Klarna way of doing things.

Something I’m unreasonably passionate about.

I like to challenge things, even though I might agree with a person but I still like to disagree to make sure we are covering all angles. That helps to make big decisions without being biased and to avoid injustice.

A day in my life.

AMPMEvening
Go through my emails to clear out any backlog.Lunch with colleagues.Researching and reading additional materials on Risk Management.
Begin my cross-domain syncs.Create an action plan for all the points that we came up with during the syncs.Play video games.
And grab a coffee after daily stand up.Solve as many flagged tasks that my time allows me to solve.Have a drink with a friend.

3 takes on Klarna.

My favorite Leadership Principle is...

Courage because it encourages me to push forward, try new things, and get out of my comfort zone.

The best task of the day is ..

the weekly Operations Committee - the main purpose of the committee is to review certain incidents and try to learn from it. “Experience is simply the name we give our mistakes."

I’d describe my team as...

a group of amazing individuals who will help you and let you succeed. Also, we’re from different backgrounds, and that's what makes us great.
