CNBC selects Klarna among top five most disruptive companies globally

by Sebastian Siemiatkowski

It’s a tremendous honour to have been recognized by CNBC as one of five most innovative companies globally for the third time and this time making it into the top 5.

This is a real testament to the incredible work Klarna employees are doing in redefining shopping for good. And it’s even more exciting to get this recognition after the record year we’ve seen as a company.

We’ve recently reached a milestone of nearly 8 million customers in the US, bringing our global customer base to 85 million. We’ve expanded our US partner roster to more than 4,200 retailers, including Sephora, H&M, The North Face, Boohoo Group, ASOS, Timberland, ModCloth and Abercrombie & Fitch. And to top it up, the Klarna app has been downloaded more than 1.7 million times in the US so far this year and more than 1 million active users in the country are shopping with more convenience and ease through the app each month.

And we’re only at the beginning….Every day, 3000 of us at Klarna wake up with the mission to meet the needs of shoppers worldwide. There’s so much more to come.

Thank you to all our consumers and retail partners for believing in us.
