Transfer season blues: Klarna won’t handle Football’s pricey players.

Hey there, fellow football lovers!

We trust that you’ve enjoyed this season as much as we have – what a year it’s been!

We’re writing this as the summer transfer window opens, and every time it does, hopeful football fans from across the world get in touch with our customer service teams – asking if we will finance the player of their dreams!

As the silly (sorry, we mean transfer) season kicks off with all its crazy price tags and jaw-dropping deals, we thought we’d pop up with a gentle reminder about what you can use your beloved Klarna for! You can use our smoooth shopping services for many things, such as finding the best deals and comparing prices on your favourite boots, getting notified when the kit finally goes on sale, and splitting those payments up. However, as you know, sadly even we have our limits, and we have to wave the red card when it comes to those big-money football transfer moves!

Our usual 60-day payment term simply can’t keep up with those skyrocketing transfer fees. So, unless you’re ready for a longer-term financing solution, it’s time to find another way to fund those big-money transfers.

So before you fire up the Klarna shopping app with ambition to sign that fancy french footballer valued higher than your entire existing squad, your stadium and possibly training ground facilities combined, just remember we only offer a few payment plans – and that its “Pay in 3”, not “Pay when you win the champions league”.

So friends, as the transfer gossip heats up and prices reach astronomical heights, remember to keep Klarna on the sidelines for now when it comes to signing new players. We’ll be watching and waiting patiently for the day when even the priciest players can be bought with a simple “Buy Now, Pay Later.” Until then, let’s keep dreaming and cheering for our teams, even if our wallets need a bit more time to recover.

Go team (as long as you don’t need Klarna to finance the players)!
