What is 1% of $1bn? It’s our new sustainability commitment.

At Klarna we want to make people’s lives easier. We solve problems so you don’t have to. We want to make sure you can bank, pay and shop easily. (‘Bank?’ you say…yep, we’re a bank..)

You love it. We love doing it. It’s great.

But it’s not enough, is it? There are bigger problems we need to solve. So today we’re announcing a new initiative to focus on solving global sustainability issues.

We raised a lot of money from investors today – $1bn – to help Klarna grow, launching our services in new countries and bringing more services to you, everywhere. We’re going to use 1% of that to kick off a new initiative so Klarna plays its part in solving the problems the planet faces. And we’re hoping others in the fintech industry will do the same. Watch the video to hear more from our CEO, Sebastian Siemiatkowski.
