Klarna Card 012023 Prize Promotion - Terms and Conditions


These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your participation in the Klarna Card 012023 Prize Promotion (the “Promotion”).

1. Promoter

Klarna Bank AB (publ) Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm, registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office under company number 556737-0431 and with registered office at Sveavägen 46, 111 34 Stockholm (“Klarna”, “Promoter”) is offering the Promotion, subject to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”).

By entering the Promotion, you agree to these terms and conditions.

You are not required to purchase any goods or products from the Promoter in order to enter the Promotion. Purchasing goods or products will not increase your chances of winning.

2. Eligibility

The Promotion is open to existing Klarna app users who have been invited by Klarna to participate in this Promotion, who (i) are legal residents of the United Kingdom, (ii) do not work in Marketing, Advertising, Technology, Banking, and related fields, and (iii) who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry and have full capacity to enter into a contract.

Employees and close family members of the Promoter or its affiliates are not eligible to participate in this Promotion.

The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility of any participant and reserves the right to request such information reasonably necessary for this purpose except where prohibited by law.

The Promoter reserves the right to verify that any winner meets the age requirement. Should this proof be requested by the Promoter and not be provided by you within the specified period, the Promoter is entitled to exclude you from participation or receipt of a prize.

The Promoter may disqualify any individual deemed by the Promoter to be ineligible to enter the Promotion, who has breached any of these Terms or who has engaged, or attempted to engage, in unlawful or improper misconduct potentially compromising the fair and just running of the Promotion.

3. Promotion Period

The Promotion starts at 00:01AM CET on March 1, 2023 (“Start Date”) and ends at 11:59PM CET on March 17, 2023 (“Closing Date”), this period being the “Promotion Period”.

By the Closing Date, all provisions of these Terms must be met in order to participate in the Promotion.

4. How to Enter

To enter the Promotion you must click on the survey link provided in the Promotion e-mail and personally reply to all the questions in the survey, as well as the personal information requested (Name, Age, E-mail), and submit the responses.

Only one (1) entry per person is permitted.

Entries that do not comply with these Terms will be void and will not be entered into this Promotion.

5. Prize

Two (2) winners will be randomly selected (Prize Winner”) and the prize winner will receive an Amazon.co.uk gift card equivalent to £40 (“Prize”).

You acknowledge that the Promoter and all other companies involved in the Promotion and their agents make no express or implied warranties, representations or guarantees as to the quality, terms, suitability or merchantability of any Prize and are not responsible in any way for the same. All prize images are for illustrative purposes only.

6. Winner Selection

The Prize Winner will be randomly selected in a draw performed by a computer process and supervised by an independent person conducted on March 17, 2023.

The Prize will be sent to the Prize Winner by email within 10 days of the Prize Winner being selected.

The Prize, or any portion of the Prize, is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. No compensation will be offered if the Prize Winner is unable to accept the Prize. The Prize Winner is responsible for any tax considerations related to accepting the Prize and should seek independent financial advice prior to acceptance of the Prize.

Additional costs resulting from acceptance of the Prize are solely the responsibility of the Prize Winner and Promoter disclaims any and all responsibility for any additional costs.

The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the Prize or any portion of the Prize for an alternative of equal or greater value.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received during the Promotion Period.

7. Personal Data

Participants in the Promotion may be required to submit certain personal information about themselves such as name and email, as well as additional information reasonably requested by the Promoter.

The legal basis for processing your personal data during the Promotion is the performance of the Promoter’s contractual obligations under these Terms. The Promoter may share your personal data with suppliers, subcontractors, shipping companies, or co-promoters such as merchants in order to provide the Promotion or Prize to you.

Please read the Klarna Privacy Policy carefully to understand how Klarna collects, uses, and discloses information about customers, how to update or change your personal information, and how we communicate with you. Any personal information supplied in connection with the Program will be used, shared and retained as set out in the Privacy Policy.

8. Governing Law

These Terms (including any non-contractual disputes or claims arising out of them) are governed by and will be construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. In any action or other legal process with respect to any matter or thing in connection with these Terms, you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom, notwithstanding your right as a consumer to submit any disputes relating to this Program to the courts and jurisdiction of your habitual place of residence.

9. Promoter’s liability, and cancellation or modification of Promotion

The Promoter is not responsible for any technical failures, malfunctions, problems with or damage to equipment (including but not limited to wireless devices, websites, wireless networks, servers, computer hardware or software) during the Promotion or as a result of you participating in the Promotion.

The Promoter reserves the right to cancel, suspend, modify or end the Promotion, except as expressly prohibited by law, if there are objective reasons for doing so, in particular, without limitation, in case any fraud or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security, or proper play of the Promotion, as determined by Promoter in its sole discretion. In such a case, you are not entitled to any claims against the Promoter and hereby waive and release all claims against the Promoter if such cancellation, modification, suspension, or termination occurs.

While nothing in these Terms will limit the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud, the Promoter will not be legally responsible to entrants or winners for any losses that were not foreseeable to the Promoter or to the entrant at the time of entry to the Promotion or which are caused by a third party.

10. Complaints

For complaints, the information provided on www.klarna.com/uk applies. If you have a complaint about any Klarna services, you can submit your complaint through the contact form on Klarna’s website.

By using our Service you consent and agree to that Klarna provides all communication regarding complaints electronically. If you have a complaint towards Klarna, you can submit your complaint through Klarna’s Customer Service webpage using the chat function or by giving us a call on (+44) 0808 189 3333. We aim to handle all complaints promptly, effectively and in a positive manner. If we do not resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may, in some instances, be able to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service by calling 08000234567 or using the online form available at https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html or writing at Exchange Tower, Harbour Exchange, London, E14 9SR.
