Fast Company and Klarna joined forces to create the first-ever Smoooth Move Awards, celebrating some of the most innovative and impactful retailers of the past year. The awards honor winners in 8 categories, from small businesses, to brands giving back to humanity, innovative product design, and more. The winners inspired us this year, and we know they will do the same for you.
The winners were selected by a distinguished judging panel, led by Klarna’s CEO and Co-Founder Sebastian Siemiatkowski, Fast Company Executive Editor Ben Baer, creative media and technology entrepreneur Joanna Coles, and Modes Moose Chairman and CEO Victor Luis.
After a trying year for retail—and retailers—these awards bring some well-deserved acclaim to brands that have thrived during this period of uncertainty and created shopping experiences people love.
The winners represented a wide cross-section of retail industry leaders and up-and-comers, all challenging the status quo and intent on delivering customer experiences that resonate long after purchase.
Among the finalists for the awards were brands such as Restoration Hardware, Kith, Hermès, Yeti, Warby Parker, Bass Pro Shops, OluKai, H&M, Patagonia, The Gap, The North Face, Gucci, Verizon, Home Depot, Phillips, Smeg, Forust, Nike, Bombas, Harry’s, Dave’s Killer Bread, Jones Road Beauty, Sunday II Sunday, and Goodwell.
