This month, we’ve joined forces with the legendary Cosmopolitan Magazine to bring their 72+ million readers the first instantly shoppable holiday issue, featuring QR codes that direct shoppers to the Klarna app to make holiday shopping fun and easy.
Cosmo’s Decembuary Holiday issue features a curated gift guide of more than 100 “It Gifts of 2020,” from must-have clothing and footwear to Cosmo’s favorite home and entertainment items, including products from Klarna retail partners like Sephora, ASOS, Reebok, Macy’s and smaller Black and women-owned brands. But that’s not all – the issue also incorporates a new and exciting way for readers to shop this holiday season.
Leveraging QR code technology to bridge the gap between print and digital, Klarna and Cosmo have created the first and only instant shopping experience in a print magazine at this scale. Klarna QR codes are sprinkled throughout issue to direct readers from print, to digital – making it easier for them to discover the items they love in the Klarna app. From there, Cosmo readers can browse and shop with the added convenience of paying later with Klarna. Readers can also create a Wish List in the Klarna app to earn a $5 Sephora gift card.
To support the collaboration, we worked closely with Cosmo to share campaign content across a variety of channels, including cosmopolitan.com , the Klarna app, and social media. Cosmo beauty director Julee Wilson has also shared her holiday gift guide on social media, emphasizing her excitement over Klarna as the one-stop shop for holiday shopping.
