Why was I asked to connect my bank account?
If we can’t obtain enough information to make an informed decision on your purchase’s approval, we may give you the option to connect your bank account to your Klarna account during checkout.
By linking your bank account you will allow us to establish a connection with your bank. This will give us the chance to get a clearer picture of your ability to pay, and as a result, we will be able to make a better-informed credit decision.
We request permission to read the following information only:
- Your account details
- Your transactions
- Your account settings
We use the highest security standards to protect your data. Klarna does not use this data for any purpose other than making decisions about approving your purchases and – depending upon your request – to supply you with tailored services, such as providing tailored economic advice or economic aggregated information. We never store your actual user credentials (e.g. Bank-ID, PIN, or TAN).
