Flexible payment methods vs. Klarna cards: What’s the difference?
At checkout, you’ll often have several ways to pay, including pay later options, the Klarna Card, and the Klarna credit card. They all help you manage your spending more effectively, but they work in different ways. Understanding the differences helps you choose the payment method that best suits your purchase, budget, and preferences.
Choose flexible payment methods with Klarna
Klarna’s flexible payment methods let you make a purchase today and pay later or split the cost into instalments.¹ You’ll always see which options are available, any costs involved, and when payments are due before completing your purchase.
Klarna lets you pay in 3 interest-free instalments, pay within 30 days, or choose financing. With the first option, the 3 interest-free instalments are charged every 30 days. Paying within 30 days is interest-free as long as you pay on time. With financing, spread the cost over 6–36 monthly instalments with interest.² Klarna pays the merchant upfront, and you repay Klarna according to the option you choose.
Pay with Klarna cards
Get a Klarna Card or Klarna credit card and use it anywhere Visa is accepted. Pay now purchases are debited immediately by default, while credit card purchases are billed monthly by default. Split eligible payments into instalments. Interest or fees may apply depending on the payment method.

Which option is right for you?
Both our flexible payment methods and the Klarna credit card give you flexibility, but they’re designed for different types of spending.
Before choosing a payment method, compare the total cost, repayment period, and any interest or fees. The right option depends on the purchase, your budget, and how you prefer to manage your payments.
Klarna payment methods give you flexibility. But always choose the payment method that suits your budget. View upcoming Klarna payments and get reminders in the Klarna app.
