Klarna makes shopping more rewarding

Aussies enjoy early access to world-first BNPL loyalty program 

Australia, 22 October 2020 – Australian shoppers are among the first worldwide to gain access to Klarna’s rewards club, just in time for peak shopping season and following 350,000 US consumers signing on in the last month alone. 
The program launches to Klarna’s Australian customers today and will roll out over the coming weeks - ahead of all European markets.  

The leading global shopping service was the first company in the buy now, pay later space to launch a customer loyalty program that is free to join, rewards you for shopping in any online store … and gets more rewarding the more you shop. 
The program offers a number of benefits: 

  • Customers who sign-on unlock an immediate one-off reward of a $10 ebay shopping voucher after their very first purchase and successful repayment 
  • Free to join - 1 vibe for every $1 spent - start accumulating immediately
  • Double-dipping! As well as earning vibes, you can continue to participate in the retailer’s loyalty program or that of your connected card (so you don’t have to pick favourites!)
  • No interest ever (and no fees when you pay on time) 
  • Ability to use at any online retailer, not just Klarna-affiliated stores
  • A wider variety of useable rewards and bonuses than just frequent flyer points

Recent research released by Apptopia found that instalment shopping apps have experienced a huge 106% year-on-year surge in downloads during September (2.5 million in total). Vibes within Klarna's rewards club will apply to all purchases made directly through the Klarna app no matter the store. Program members will earn one vibe (point) for every $1 they spend, which can be redeemed for rewards such as gift cards from customer favourites like ASOS, Sephora, Amazon, Myer, Harvey Norman, Catch, IKEA, David Jones, Adore Beauty, and Rebel. 
Members will have access to exclusive online and offline sales and shopping experiences and can even earn an extra layer of rewards if they are already part of an existing loyalty program through the retailer that they are purchasing items from.
