Klarna opens for team applications – part of large recruitment offensive

June 15, 2018

Over 2,000 years ago Aristotle stated that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Now Klarna –  one of Europe’s leading payments providers and newly-licensed bank – takes the greek philosopher at his words, opening up for marketing professionals to apply as teams.

Klarna opens for team applications on June 12th and has adapted the recruitment process with added team-based assignments and tests. Starting with adding team based applications within marketing, Klarna states that if all goes well the fast growing Swedish fintech company might very well offer this opportunity throughout all departments, where the overall goal is to grow by 1,000 people by the end of the year.

“We’re constantly looking for top talent to join our quest to create a smoother world and continue to redefine payments and banking as we know it. By giving applicants a chance to submit collective work applications they get the opportunity to handpick their new teammates all by themselves”, says David Sandström, CMO, at Klarna

Klarna’s 2,000 employees are organized in 250+ smaller teams, functioning as small start ups within the company. Each team consists of maximum eight people with their own mission, vision, objectives and KPIs. This operating model enables rapid innovation processes while also maintaining Klarna’s original start-up spirit.

“Part of the objective with the new operating model is to hire great team players with entrepreneurial spirit. Most great companies were not started by lone wolves, but by a few people with a dream to accomplish something great together. Many of the best marketers already work in strong teams, and in order to be attractive to those people we are trying out new ways of marketing ourselves”, Sandström continues.

Currently Klarna is expanding rapidly and has a great need for more marketeers joining the team in Sweden and Germany, helping international recruits with relocation. For more information on Klarna’s team application process and how to apply, please visit https://www.klarna.com/careers/team-up/
