On June 14, hundreds of Klarna engineers gathered in Stockholm to celebrate coding as one of the fine arts and to exhibit the winning art pieces from last year’s Code Art campaign.

The story behind the campaign began with an idea to highlight the creativity and artistry behind coding. With the question “Is your code fine enough to be perceived as art?”, engineers from around the world were asked to submit their most creative Java, JavaScript, Erlang, and Python snippets of code to a custom built campaign site.

After receiving 1,300+ submissions and 500,000+ impressions on social media, three of the snippets were selected and transformed into neon art by renowned Stockholm artist Josefine Eklund. As of June 14, 2023, the signs can be exhibited in a stunning pop-up art exhibition at the Klarna headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.

At Klarna, we rely on our strong community and love doing things together even outside of work. To kick off the exhibition, Klarna engineers based in Stockholm gathered for an exclusive evening event, acknowledging and celebrating their profession as a creative art form that requires skill, imagination, and originality.
