Klarna’s hiring process is unique. At this company we look for talent rather than only filling jobs. Therefore, instead of applying to a specific job with specific requirements, you can apply for an open “pipeline”.
Behind a pipeline, you can find a lot of different teams that share similar requirements and need for your skill set. Throughout the selection process, you and the interviewers will find out together where you will be allocated.
The steps below are a generalisation of the process, please note that adjustments might apply depending on the department you are being considered for.

2. Logic test
After sending in your application you will receive a standard online abstract reasoning test. This is a mandatory step for everyone who applies to Klarna. This test gives us an idea about your ability to analyze information, detect patterns and relationships, and solve problems in a complex, intangible level.
When you complete and send in your results for the logical thinking test, we will check your results and if you pass a recruiter will get in touch with you shortly. If you don’t score high enough, you will still hear from us but we won’t be able to proceed with your application.
Tip: Please make sure that you take the test in a calm and quiet environment as the results of this test will impact your progression in the process.
Congratulations, to get to this step you must have passed the logical thinking test! This is when the recruiter reaches out for the first interview. During this interview we want to get to know you better and ask any questions we might have in regards to your previous experiences and your career interests.
Tip: We suggest you to use this space to ask as many questions as possible about Klarna and how we operate!
4. First interview
If you are applying to a non-technical role, you will be directly invited to a set of 2 interviews. If you want to join one of our engineering teams, you might be asked to perform a coding test.
As part of the first block of interviews, we will focus on the set of skills needed for the role you applied for and will touch upon your view on several organizational topics and situations in the past where you have demonstrated values and behaviors that we value at Klarna.

5. Second interview
When you make it to this step you will most likely know what team at Klarna you will be joining. Thus, it will be time for your second interview with your potential future manager. Here you will get to know more about the team and problem spaces you will be working with.
Also, you will have an opportunity to understand how your role will contribute to Klarna’s ambitions, and why Klarna might be the ideal place for your career development.
After introducing you to your future team we will at this final stage discuss the technicalities of your employment at Klarna such as start date, salaries and, if relevant, relocation packages.
