To open a fixed account, you need to sign up for a Klarna balance in the Klarna app. Transfer the money you want to invest from your other bank account to your Klarna Balance. This usually takes 1 to 3 working days. As soon as you have funds in your Klarna Balance, you can choose term length and rate and transfer the savings amount into your new fixed account. That's it.
To open a fixed account, you need Klarna balance. The fixed accounts are always linked to your Klarna balance.
There are no fees for fixed accounts. Not for the sign-up and no monthly fees either.
For a term of up to 1 year, the interest is paid out after the term has expired. If the term is longer than 1 year, the interest is paid out annually and once the term has expired.
After the term has ended, the original deposit amount together with any accrued interest is sent back to your Klarna balance. At the same time, the fixed account is automatically closed.
With Klarna fixed accounts you receive guaranteed interest. That means it will not fluctuate during the term you have chosen. This way, you know in advance how much interest you will earn on your deposits. Because Klarna is a Swedish credit institution, it is protected by the Swedish deposit guarantee. Deposits up to 100,000 €* per person (across all of the person's accounts) are protected by the Swedish deposit guarantee.
The account is covered by the Swedish deposit guarantee scheme in accordance with a decision by the responsible Swedish authority “Riksgälden”. The maximum compensation for each customer is 100,000 € and the relevant authority will make the compensation available for payment within 7 working days from the start of the claim for compensation.
