1. What are Klarna Memberships?
Klarna Memberships are a paid subscription that gives you access to a range of financial, lifestyle, and protection benefits. There are four plans — Core, Plus, Premium, and Max — each offering a different mix of perks such as cashback, premium cards, insurance, and travel benefits.

2. Who can get a Klarna Membership?
Anyone with a Klarna account can join, as long as you meet a few basic requirements:
You’re at least 18 years old and live in a country where Klarna Membership is available.
You have a valid payment method.
3. Can I get a free trial?
Yes. If you’re joining for the first time, you can try Plus or Core for free for 30 days. You won’t be charged if you cancel before your trial ends.
The free trial is available once per customer (not once per plan) and a small temporary fee may appear on your account for authorization purposes.
After the trial ends, your plan will automatically renew into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the 30 days are up.
4. Do I get a physical card with my membership?
Yes. All Klarna Members can apply for a physical Klarna Card.
If you cancel a Premium or Max membership within the first six months, a fee applies to deactivate your metal card. After six months, Klarna may deactivate the card at no cost. For Core and Plus, where you can apply for a standard card, no fees apply if you cancel your membership.
1. Can I change my membership?
Yes. You can switch plans anytime in the Klarna app.
If you upgrade to a higher plan, the change takes effect immediately. Your current billing period will be refunded, and a new cycle will begin at the upgraded rate. Some of your previous partner benefits may end, and you’ll need to activate your new higher-plan benefits manually in the app.
Each Klarna Membership includes one active card at a time. When you upgrade, your current card will keep working until you activate or make your first purchase with your new card. Metal cards (Premium or Max) aren’t sent automatically, you’ll need to request one in the Klarna app.
If you downgrade to a lower plan, your current benefits will remain active until the end of your billing period, after which you’ll be charged at the lower rate.
2. Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. You can cancel at any time in the Klarna app or by contacting Klarna Customer Service. Your benefits will remain active until the end of your current billing cycle.
You can rejoin Klarna Membership at any time after cancelling. However, the free trial is only available once per customer and won’t apply again.
3. Is it possible to pause my Klarna Membership?
No. Klarna memberships can’t be paused. To stop being charged, cancel your subscription. You can resubscribe at any time.
1. How does cashback work with Klarna Membership?
Klarna Members earn cashback on eligible purchases in addition to cashback earned on in app purchases. To receive additional cashback, orders must be paid in full, using Klarna Balance or the Klarna Card.
As a member, you can either transfer your cashback to your Klarna Balance or convert it into loyalty points with participating hotel and airline partners. Conversion rates depend on your country and currency.
Your cashback never expires for members.
2. How do I convert my cashback into travel or hotel points?
You can convert your Klarna Cashback into loyalty points directly in the Klarna app. The exact conversion rate depends on your country and currency, so the number of points you receive may vary. Once converted, the process can’t be reversed.
To complete the transfer, you must already have an active membership with the hotel or airline loyalty program you’re transferring to. During the process, you’ll be asked to enter your loyalty membership ID to make sure your points are credited correctly.
Most transfers are processed instantly, but in some cases it can take up to two days for the points to appear in your loyalty account. If you still don’t see them after two days, contact Klarna Support for help.
3. When do I receive my €8 credit?
Plus, Premium, and Max Members receive an in-app discount every three months, starting with their third billing cycle after signing up. The offer is available at any store where Klarna is available, when you shop via the Klarna app.
Each quarterly credit is valid for 30 days from the date it becomes available and must be activated in the app before use. You’ll find the activation details and full terms directly in the app.
Example:
Sign up: January 14 → no deal
February 14 → no deal
March 14 → first quarterly deal available (valid for 30 days)
June 14 → next quarterly deal available
4. How do I access monthly deals?
Depending on your membership plan, you’ll get exclusive merchant offers each month. These deals appear in the Klarna app at the start of your billing cycle and must be activated manually. Each one expires 30 days after activation.
To access them, open your profile in the Klarna app, tap Membership, and select Deals from the list of benefits.
Each participating store provides its own offer, which can be redeemed once per billing cycle. The total monthly discount amount shown in your plan represents the combined value of all available offers. To receive the maximum possible value, you’ll need to make one qualifying purchase with each participating merchant during that cycle.
If you only use some of the offers, you’ll get discounts for those purchases only, not the full monthly amount.
5. How do I access enhanced customer service?

1. How do I activate my subscriptions?
Most Klarna Membership tiers include access to subscriptions such as free trials, monthly credits, or bundled subscriptions. To activate your benefits, always use the same email address that’s linked to your Klarna account. If you register with a different email, your benefits may not apply.
How to activate a partner benefit
Open your Klarna app and go to your Membership home.
Under Subscriptions, find the partner you’d like to activate.
Tap Activate offer.
Some offers may require you to copy a code and paste it on the partner’s website.
You’ll be redirected to the partner’s site or app, where you can sign in or create an account using your Klarna email.
Follow the on-screen steps to complete activation.
All activations are completed directly with the partner, not in the Klarna app.
Free trials and renewals
Some partner offers include a free trial. In most cases, these trials automatically renew into a paid plan unless you cancel before the trial ends. You’ll see clear renewal information before activation, and you can manage or cancel trials directly on the partner’s website or app.
Monthly credits and included subscriptions
Some memberships include recurring credits or allowances (for example, a monthly credit at a participating partner). These are applied automatically to your partner account or through a code you’ll find in your Klarna app. Full instructions appear with each benefit.
Existing accounts
Some partner benefits are only for new users, while others can be linked to existing accounts. Always check the benefit description before activating. If you already have a paid plan, you may need to cancel it first and re-subscribe through Klarna once it ends.
Billing and cancellations
If the offer is included in your Klarna Membership, Klarna covers the cost.
If you start a free trial that renews or a discounted plan, you’ll be billed directly by the partner.
To cancel a self-paid or discounted subscription, visit the partner’s website or app.
For included benefits, contact Klarna Customer Service if you want to stop access.
Accessing your benefits
Once your benefit is activated, use the partner’s app or website as normal. Content and services are managed entirely by the partner. Klarna cannot make changes to partner accounts, cancel third-party subscriptions, or issue refunds on the partner’s behalf.
2. I’m having trouble activating or accessing my subscription.
If your subscription doesn’t activate or you can’t log in to your partner account, try the following steps:
Make sure you’re eligible for the benefit and have followed all activation steps in the Klarna app.
Check that you used the same email address linked to your Klarna account — this ensures your benefit connects correctly.
If the partner page or app doesn’t load properly, try again in a desktop browser or an incognito window, then reopen the activation link.
If your code shows as invalid or already used, double-check for typos. Each code or link can only be redeemed once.
Confirm in the Klarna app that your subscription is active.
If you’ve completed these steps and still can’t activate or access your benefit, contact Klarna Support for help with activation issues, or reach out to the partner’s help center for login or account access problems.
1. How do I access the airport lounges?
Klarna partners with Collinson to provide airport lounge access through the LoungeKey program. Your cost per visit depends on your Klarna membership plan—higher plans pay less, and Max Members receive unlimited included visits (guest passes can be purchased separately).
Each LoungeKey pass is valid for one person and one visit and expires three months after it’s issued.
To enter a lounge, you’ll need your LoungeKey QR code, a same-day flight ticket, and a photo ID that matches the name on your LoungeKey account. Access is walk-in only and subject to availability; lounges may limit entry during busy periods.
To use your benefit, open the Klarna app → More → Lounge.
Use the Lounge Finder to check available locations (https://loungefinder.loungekey.com/en/klarnatrs1325 and https://loungefinder.loungekey.com/en/klarnatier425), then select Add New LoungeKey Pass, enter traveler details, and complete payment if required.
Before your visit, generate your QR code in the app and show it at lounge check-in.
If your plan changes, any previously issued passes remain valid for three months.
If your QR code doesn’t scan, lounge staff can manually enter your Lounge Identifier Number.

2. How do I activate my insurance?
Klarna Membership includes built-in insurance protection through XCover, provided by Cover Genius, at no additional cost.
After joining, you’ll receive an email or SMS from XCover with a secure activation link—follow it to set up your account. Once activated, you can log in anytime to view your policy details, benefit limits, and terms; update your information; and submit or track claims. Coverage varies by membership plan: Plus covers you only, while Premium and Max cover you, your spouse or partner, your children under 18, and adult cohabitants who have lived with you for at least 12 months (you may need to provide proof of relationship and shared booking confirmation when filing a claim).
