How will the 2FA be implemented in banks in the future?

In online banking, identification with at least two different and independent “factors” becomes mandatory. The second stage of the PSD2 directive with the mentioned two-factor authentication, in short: 2FA, can look very different.

The classic login and password, for example, is one “factor” that is supplemented by a second one that is not physically owned by the customer. The second factor can be queried very differently depending on the bank, e.g. via App, Photo-TAN, Chip-TAN, mTAN and also depends on the frequency with which the customer logs into his online banking or pays online with a card.
