Klarna has painted the town pink at our first Smoooth Sessions event held at The Calyx in Sydney’s spectacular Royal Botanic Gardens.
Discussing the Art of Reinvention within retail, the panel was moderated by Natarsha Belling and featured with special guest speaker, the Hon Julie Bishop. The panellists line up saw strategic and insight-driven discussions between Fran Ereira from Klarna ANZ, Nick Youngquest from Athletes for Life and Debra Papazoglu from JD Sports.
The key themes that emerged were authenticity and the importance of human values, and the discussion also included advice on being a true leader even through a global pandemic, while Julie spoke on gender equality ahead of International Women’s Day.
The discussion shone a relatively positive light on the past year, even through hard times, and offered up future thinking for Australian retailers. Putting the needs of consumers first is paramount as we navigate what this means for the retail sector moving forward.
Country Head of Klarna Australia Fran Ereira said: “Klarna is determined to be different. Through starting conversations like this we want to send a message that it’s time for a shake-up, for a breath of fresh air that is genuinely focused on growing amazing retail businesses.”
With Australian retailers re-emerging from the most challenging period in most of our lifetimes, the panel discussion offered an insightful and inspirational deep dive into reinvention and how brands, businesses and individuals can adapt and respond to what we now know as the “new normal”.
Guests who attended the event included; Nick Truelove, Olivia Grivas, Canna Campbell and Kellie Hush who all mingled with the retail industry’s leading heavyweights and enjoyed a live performance from Thelma Plum.
