What is Apple Upgrade?

The Apple Upgrade program allows you to lease eligible Apple devices through Klarna, providing an option for low, interest-free monthly payments and the ability to trade in and upgrade their devices after a set term.
Trade-In
As you enroll, you may be able to trade in a device you already own, which would lower your monthly lease payments for your lease term (the reduced monthly lease payments do not apply to the month-to-month extension period).
Note: Devices on an active lease from Apple Upgrade aren't eligible for Trade In because you do not yet own the device.
End of lease options
At the end of the term, you will have 3 options regarding what you would like to do with the device:
Option 1: You upgrade to a new Apple device by returning your current device in good working condition within 14 days of the lease end. If approved, the trade-in value pays down the final payment, also known as Purchase Option Fee, and a new lease begins.
Option 2: You return the device and exit, closing the lease with no new agreement.
Option 3: You keep the device by paying the Purchase Option Fee to own it outright.
All options are subject to the terms and conditions outlined in your lease agreement, which you can find on the transaction detail page in the app.
Lease-eligible Apple devices
The following hardware are eligible for an Apple Upgrade lease: iPhones, Watches, iPads, and Macs. Please find the exact eligible models and available term lengths on Apple.com.
